About Vancouver
Vancouver is a naturally beautiful city cradled between the splendour of the Pacific Ocean and the magnificence of the soaring coastal mountains. Indigenous peoples originally inhabited the land that is now Vancouver until European settlers immigrated to the area in the late 1800's. The immigration has continued until the present day and Vancouver at the end of the millennium is a vibrant, diverse, multicultural city. There are over 60 first languages spoken in Vancouver schools and today's immigrants are streaming in from all over Asia. Vancouver is an eclectic mix of many cultures.
