FAQs
Do you
require a minimum number of participants in a team?
We
request that teams be no smaller than six members, including leaders. In the
past, we have found that a good ratio is 7 students to 1 leader, but it’s
entirely up to you how many leaders you arrange for your
group.
Are there
any age requirements?
The
age minimum is 13 years old because it is important that all of your team
members are able to participate in all activities during your outreach.
All
International Outreaches have a 14 year old age minimum.
What if I
need to add to or subtract from my group?
It’s
not a problem to change the number of participants in your team by five or
less, but please contact our office as soon as you know that the numbers for
your group are going to change. Although we cannot refund the Registration
Fee, if you subtract from your group, we will still apply the amount toward
the total cost.
Is a refund
available if we have to cancel for the whole group?
Unfortunately,
we cannot refund your Registration Fee. Your Deposit Fee is refundable until
FOUR WEEKS PRIOR to your Mission Adventure. After that, they are
non-refundable. Any amounts paid above your Registration and Deposit are fully
refundable.
What time
should we arrive?
During
the Summer Program, we ask that teams check-in with us between 3:00-5:00pm on
the first Monday of the Program. For Urban Mission Exposure during the
Fall/Winter we will arrange a time with you that suit your travel schedule.
During Spring Urban Missions Exposure our intake days are on Fridays, so we
ask that you check-in between 3:00-6:00 on the given Friday that you arrive in
the city.
What do the
fees cover?
For
Summer Program fees cover food, accommodation, and a Mission Adventures
Kit.
Urban
Missions Exposure fees cover food, accommodation, and a YWAM
t-shirt.
See fees page for complete details.
Where am I
going to sleep?
We
usually house our teams at local churches, which means you will be sleeping on
the floor. Please bring your own sleeping bag, and we will provide foam mats
for you to sleep on. The church your team is staying at may or may not have a
shower facility, so if not, we will make plans for you to shower at another
church or a nearby community centre. In this case, your schedule will not have
room for showering every day, but we will try to schedule one at least every
third day.
What is a
Mission Adventures Kit?
Summer
Program participants receive a Mission Adventures Kit which includes a bag,
t-shirt, devotional magazine, and a special gift just for
you!
Am I
responsible for transportation?
Yes,
in Vancouver you are responsible for transportation for your team. You also
need your own money for parking fees. We recommend budgeting $50 for parking
per vehicle. For International Outreaches, transportation costs are calculated
into the total cost of your trip.
