What is a DTS?

The Discipleship Training School is an intensive Christian training course beginning with a 12 week lecture/training phase followed by an 8 week practical field assignment. The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to, "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations."

The DTS is primarily a course in discipleship addressing areas of attitude, motives of the heart and character. It has an emphasis on missions and evangelism. If you are interested in missions, a DTS gives you an opportunity to experience first hand the life of a missionary. The DTS program gives you a basic understanding of God, His character and attributes, and the principles in scripture which are essential to every Christian worker.

THE DTS WILL:

EQUIP you to grow in your relationship with God, provide a solid Biblical foundation and encourage the development of Christ-like character through personal application of truth.

CHALLENGE you to become involved in missions and world evangelism with YWAM or other ministries, awaken a burden for reaching the unreached, give you a vision for influencing all areas of society, and a encourage you to commit to strengthening the global Body of Christ.

IMPART to you an understanding of Youth With A Mission International, its foundational values, calling and opportunities for service.

PREPARE you as a messenger of the gospel for service in the local church and local community.
